That this House:

  1. Notes the Modern Slavery Act 2018 was passed in the NSW Parliament with broad support more than two years ago.

  2. Notes the Modern Slavery Act 2018 is yet to be proclaimed.

  3. Notes New South Wales and Australia are currently in the biggest economic downturn in decades and protections for vulnerable workers are more important now than ever, as there is a much greater risk of exploitation.

  4. Notes the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act has lower standards than that of the New South Wales Modern Slavery Act.

  5. Calls on the Premier and Government to immediately proclaim the Modern Slavery Act 2018 and protect vulnerable workers.
